Eras Tour Outfit Ideas

If you’re wondering what to wear to Taylor’s Swift Eras show or your Eras movie party, I’ve got you covered with outfit ideas from my girlfriends’ group chat.

This is a passion project for me. My friends and I went to the Sunday show in Seattle, with each of us is wearing an outfit from a different era. (I wore a Speak Now outfit that was also reminiscent of some of my favorite Evermore vibes.) I realize not everyone has a group chat (or the time) to crowdsource outfit ideas, so I put them together here. Here’s hoping you can find the perfect tour outfit that brings you back to some of your happiest Swiftie memories, while you make some new ones, too.

What to Wear for Every Era

The best place to start is in the Official Taylor Swift Eras Store. There’s tour merch and cute accessories for every era. From there, I’ve got you covered with outfits and accessories. Here they are:

Midnights Era Outfits

Midnights has a vintage, 1970s-inspired aesthetic with a rust, tan, green, and navy color scheme. Gold hoops and cat eyes are the perfect accessories.

Midnights era refresher: Midnights is Taylor’s 10th album and was released in October 2022. So far there have been 3 singles: Anti-Hero, Bejeweled, and Lavender Haze.

I’ve got a complete guide to Midnights eras tour outfits, but if you’re planning on a Midnights-inspired look for the Eras Tour, you can’t go wrong with an option from her 2023 Grammy’s look, Midnights Mayhem, or Lavender Haze.

2023 Grammy Awards Look

At the 2023 Grammy Awards, Taylor wore a navy blue beaded top and skirt. It was classy AF and makes for a v cute concert outfit. I think you could steal the glitter top or wear this amazing Midnights-esque gold dress with something navy under it.

Midnights Mayhem with Me Outfits

Taylor’s Midnights Mayhem with Me looks are classy, casual, and easy to mimic. Honestly, I think we all need to use this as an excuse to buy the green sweater.

Lavender Haze Outfit

Lavender Haze is the most comfortable option for a music video inspired look from the Midnights Era.

Red Era Outfits

The Red Era (originally 2012, Taylor’s Version in 2021) is classic, comfortable, and casual. Red Era outfits largely fit into a red, black, and tan color scheme. If you are a cozy feminist with big feelings and even bigger dreams, this is the era for you.

Red Era Refresher: Red was released in 2012 and originally included the singles We are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Begin Again, I Knew You Were Trouble, 22, Red, Everything Has Changed, and The Last Time. Taylor released Red (Taylor’s Version) in 2021, along with the iconic All too Well (The Short Film) featuring Sadie Sink.

There are 3 primary options for a Red Era outfit:

All too Well (The Short Film):

If you’re wearing an All too Well inspired outfit, you could go for the cozy sweater that Sadie Sink wears in the short film. Realistically, though, a lot of us are going to be attending an Eras tour in warm, summer weather. Considering that, a black top or black dress with gold jewelry (as featured in the film) might be a better option.

Red Album Outfits

On the original version of the Red album cover, Taylor wore classic black shorts with a white button-down top. On Taylor’s Version, she wore a dreamy trench.

And, of course, you’ll need red lipstick to complete the look. One difference to note is that the original style was more of a classic Red, while Taylor’s Version features more of an orange-red.

Casual “22” Look

One of the most warm-weather friendly looks to put together is based on Taylor’s music video for “22.” White t-shirt, black shorts, a cute fedora if you’re feeling it, and red heart sunglasses will having you feeling happy, free, confused, and lonely in the best way.

Lover Era Outfits

Nothing says bright, summer fun like the Lover Era. Pink, blue, and yellow are the colors to lean into here.

Lover era refresher: Lover was released in 2020 and included 4 singles: Me, You Need to Calm Down, Lover, and The Man. Taylor planned the Lover Fest tour for this album but had to cancel it due to covid.

Speak Now Era Outfits

I mentioned this above, but Speak Now is my favorite era, and I’ll be wearing a country dress (more of a deep cut) when I see her in Seattle. Speak Now (originally 2010, and omg hopefully so soon for Taylor’s Version!) is known primarily for its purple and gold dresses.

Speak Now Era Refresher: Speak Now was released in 2010 and included the singles Mine, Back to December, Mean, Sparks Fly, The Story of Us, and Ours.

An Easy and Casual Speak Now Era Outfit

Gold and purple dresses are a vibe, but they aren’t your vibe, that doesn’t mean you can’t wear a Speak Now era look. For a more subtle outfit, look no further than the Back to December music video. (Bonus points if you’re a Twilight fan, since the song is about Taylor Lautner.)

Wear a tan boyfriend cardigan with a white tank and messy updo. Nailed it.

There are 10 “eras” that Taylor will celebrating on tour, one for each of her original albums. They are Debut, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights.

When does the Eras Tour begin?

The Eras tour kicks off on Friday, March 17th, 2023 in Glendale AZ. It ends on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in Los Angeles.

What should I wear to the Eras tour?
